A few months ago my husband brought home a seemingly random cereal, but it has soon become a favorite of ours. You probably haven't even heard of it. That's okay though....we hadn't either. It's called "Mom's Best Naturals", and it's GREAT!!! It's made with whole grains. In fact, the first ingredient listed is "whole grain wheat". And...it doesn't taste like a "whole wheat" cereal. You and your kids will never taste the difference. They don't use any artificial preservatives, colors or flavors, high fructose corn syrup, or hydrogenated oils. They are also an environmentally friendly company. They named their company in honor of their own mother! :) I'm not trying to sound like an advertisement for "Mom's Best", I just think it's a really good product!
We got the "Toasted Cinnamon Squares". They taste EXACTLY like "Cinnamon Toast Crunch". And it's CHEAP!!!! I don't remember the exact price, but it was something like $2.12 (???) for a big box. It's not generic, they just don't do advertising, and they pass the savings onto us. Thanks Mom's Best!! It's kind of hard to find. Only one of the Walmart's in our area carries it. But really...you should try it. It's super tasty, healthy, and it will save you money. What's not to love!

i know you said you aren't advertising for them, BUT if in the future you are paid by someone to post something on your blog about them you HAVE TO DISCLOSE that info. it's a new law; as of last dec 1 or something. and if you're a member of a mom's group or something that you have a paid membership and you post a link on your blog, YOU HAVE TO DISCLOSE that you're a paid member too. part of the same law.
(which reminds me that i need to put that i pay membership dues for 'now i lay me down to sleep' on by blog--somehow. i'm not sure of the most elegant way to say that.)
for some things it seems kind of trivial, but overall, i think it's a good law. we can know if we're getting a completely objective opinion from people, or if they are being paid to give that opinion--and there is nothing wrong with that--it's just nice to know.
hmmm...i didn't know that!! Thanks for the info!! I WISH they were paying me!! haha!!
so i was just doing some research to see what i needed to do about 'nilmdts' since i pay membership dues. but it looks like i was remembering incorrectly.
it seems that the law says you have to disclose when it is for paid advertising--not just basic membership. but i am a member of a mom's organization for advertising purposes, so that's probably why i had it mixed up in my head--but that is NOT the case for 'nilmdts'--in no way do i have an ad on their website.
that makes a lot more sense, and i hope i didn't confuse you. here is a link to a lady's blog who seems to know her stuff about business, and put the law into terms i could (almost) understand. http://www.thinksplendid.com/search/label/Online%20Advertising
